The Graveyard of All Existence – Norbert Góra
“Remos’ logbook. It’s January 21, 2245. Captain Ramir Redoo speaking,” he started and
immediately swallowed. “I think the Fermi paradox has been solved. Space is empty,” Ramir Redoo
said with a trembling voice. Years of dreams about facing a technologically advanced civilization. All
for nothing. Full of regret, captain decided to continue.
“Today is the end…”. He didn’t finish. The on-board computer reported the loss of control over the
Remos steering system.
What the hell? – he thought and frowned. Interstellar ship Remos AOM was inexorably
approaching a planet covered in thick fog.
“Active the emergency control system!” the Redoo screamed, unable to believe what was
happening. An electronic voice answered him. “No access.”.
“I’m the captain of Remos!” Ramir shouted even louder.
“No rank matters in the graveyard of all existence,” replied the same voice. The ship broke
through the cloud. Redoo moved from the computer and ran to the steps leading to the hull
observation bridge. He almost stuck to the huge window separating the interior of the ship from the
void.
Captain noticed something behind the endless curtain of fog. He swallowed and immediately
made the sign of the cross. Machines unknown to humanity, mysterious flying objects, millions of
never-seen bodies. Does this planet bring everyone here? Irrational, but… no, no! Redoo turned
his face towards the entrance door to the control center. He was already composing an energetic
message in his mind.
**
Please refrain from intergalactic travels, as we will meet on the graveyard of all existence –
the energy beam sent from the Remos ship to Earth contained this personal thought of Great Remir
Redoo. No one doubted that a tragedy had occurred.
