Farewell – Krzysztof T. Dąbrowski
It was time to say goodbye. They didn’t want to part, but they had no other
choice. Force majeure. As they looked into each other’s eyes, all the memories
came rushing back. Like a film on the white screen of the mind. They had known
each other so well and had lived through so much together that they had become
‘one.’ It was the unity of souls and bodies. They could read each other’s thoughts.
They hugged one last time. Tears were streaming from their eyes. So what was
next? Would they be able to be together again? Could they meet once more? They
weren’t afraid of death, but of what it would do to separate them from one another.
Then, they immediately evaporated, sucked into the vacuum created by the atomic
bomb.
